Amadou Onana of Everton needs to reconsider his on-field antics after the “worst offender” figure was revealed.

The current situation at Goodison Park sees the club holding the 18th position in the league standings, facing the looming threat of another financial fair play penalty following a previous deduction of 10 points this season.

Another deduction would likely exacerbate their struggles, but this shouldn’t deter the players

from giving their best under manager Sean Dyche.

Dyche has earned praise for his efforts at Everton, despite employing traditional tactics that may

not align perfectly with modern football trends.

Nevertheless, Dyche can boast of fostering a team known for its honesty and respectfulness, as evidenced by Everton’s low number of yellow cards for dissent and time wasting this season.

According to Opta Analyst data from February 9th, Everton has received nine yellow cards

for dissent and four for time wasting in the 2023/24 Premier League campaign.

However, in the case of time wasting, one Everton player stands out, with Amadou Onana

being singled out as the “worst offender” in the entire league, responsible for all four of Everton’s bookings in this category.

Given the increased scrutiny from football authorities such as the Premier League, EFL, FA, and PGMOL on such infractions, Dyche would do well to ensure his players, particularly Onana, avoid

unnecessary cautions to mitigate potential repercussions.
