Everton finds out the date of the Premier League FFP appeal decision while Nottingham Forest watches
This week, Everton is poised to receive the outcome of their appeal against a 10-point deduction, while Nottingham Forest observes closely.
The penalty was imposed on Everton in November for alleged breaches of Premier
League financial rules, plunging them into the relegation zone at the time.
Everton promptly announced their intention to appeal the decision, with the
verdict anticipated this week.
Additionally, both Everton and Nottingham Forest face charges for allegedly violating Profitability
and Sustainability rules (PSR).
The resolution of both clubs’ cases is expected by May 24th at the latest, just five days after the
conclusion of the 2023/24 Premier League season.
In response to the initial charge in November, Everton expressed shock and disappointment
at the Premier League Commission’s ruling.
They deemed the imposed sanction as disproportionate and unjust, stating their intention to
appeal the decision.
Everton maintained their openness and transparency throughout the process,
refuting allegations of acting in bad faith.
They emphasized their commitment to abiding by the Premier League’s rules and expressed
interest in the outcomes of other cases concerning Profit and Sustainability Rules.
Everton refrained from further comment until the conclusion of the appeal process.
