“What’s the delay?” Jamie Carragher discusses his theory regarding the Everton points deduction appeal.

Jamie Carragher has questioned whether the announcement regarding Everton’s points deduction appeal is being deliberately withheld until after their match against Crystal Palace at Goodison Park.

Everton is set to face Crystal Palace for the fourth time in just over three months on Monday night.

Despite currently being in the relegation zone, a successful outcome from their appeal against the 10-point

deduction they received in November could potentially lift them out of the drop zone.

This deduction stands as the most severe sporting sanction in 135 years of English top-flight football.

Former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness expressed optimism about a

positive outcome close to Valentine’s Day, but as of the time of publication, no official announcement has been made.

Senior Everton staff members have reportedly not been informed of any decision on the appeal.

Carragher, a lifelong Everton supporter who later had a distinguished career with

Liverpool, took to Twitter to express his concerns about the delay in the appeals decision.

He emphasized the urgency of the matter for Everton and other clubs in similar situations,

suggesting that the Premier League and Everton likely already know the outcome of the appeal.

Carragher speculated whether the Premier League might be

waiting until after Everton’s home game before making an announcement.
