Everton: Following Luton’s defeat, Robbie Savage predicts a new relegation in real time on the broadcast
Robbie Savage has made a prediction that Everton will join Sheffield United and Burnley in relegation from the Premier League by the end of the season, following Luton’s 2-1 loss to Manchester United.
Despite Luton’s defeat, the former Leicester midfielder backed them to stay up ahead of Sean Dyche’s Burnley, who lost to Manchester United.
Luton has received praise for their efforts this season, although Chris Sutton still predicted them to fall short.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Savage stated, “I’ll go with Sheffield United, Burnley,
and I think I’m going to go with Everton.” Sutton, on the other hand, maintained his prediction
of Luton going down, sticking with his initial assessment from the start of the season.
The possibility of Luton staying up raises the prospect of Everton facing relegation instead.
The upcoming clash between Luton and Everton on May 4th could be pivotal and serve as a potential relegation decider.
Additionally, Everton’s Premier League match against Crystal Palace could prove crucial, with Palace currently holding a five-point advantage over Burnley.
A victory for Everton in this fixture could narrow the gap to just two points, pending the outcome of their points deduction appeal.
It’s unfortunate that the relegation battle may be influenced by points deductions rather than
the performances on the pitch, as the fate of the battling teams remains uncertain,
with their futures not entirely in their control.
