Fans can’t believe what Sheffield United star said after horrible Mason Holgate challenge

Mason Holgate’s challenge during Sheffield United’s heavy defeat to Brighton on Sunday has been widely criticized as one of the worst tackles in Premier League history.

The Blades suffered a 5-0 loss, with all five goals coming after Holgate’s dismissal for a high challenge on Kaoru Mitoma.

Teammate Anel Ahmedhodzic initially didn’t believe it was a red card-worthy offense,

stating in a post-match interview that he thought it was a fair tackle based on his initial viewing.

However, manager Chris Wilder accepted the referee’s decision and confirmed that Holgate had apologized to the team for his actions.

Despite wanting his team to be competitive, Wilder acknowledged the need for players to understand the line between fair and excessive challenges.

Meanwhile, Manchester United’s struggles since the Glazer family’s takeover in 2005 have

been highlighted, with Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure exposing their shortcomings.

Under the Glazers, United have won trophies but have not mounted credible challenges in the Premier League and the Champions League.

There is hope among fans that under new ownership, such as Jim Ratcliffe’s potential bid, the club’s fortunes could change.

United are reportedly eyeing Dan Ashworth, currently Newcastle’s sporting director, for a similar role at Old Trafford.

However, Newcastle has placed a £20m price tag on Ashworth, signaling potential complications in securing his services.
