Confirmed: In light of Roy Hodgson’s update, Crystal Palace calls the dugout for the Everton match.

Crystal Palace’s upcoming Premier League match against Everton will see Paddy McCarthy and Ray Lewington take charge, as confirmed by the club.

Roy Hodgson’s departure as manager was announced in a statement on Monday,

prompting McCarthy and Lewington to lead the team for their game at Goodison Park.

According to reports from Fabrizio Romano, Oliver Glasner will also be present at the match,

having already signed a contract with Palace. He is expected to conduct his first training

session on February 20th.

As for Everton, they are eager to bounce back from recent disappointments and see

the game against a managerless Crystal Palace as an opportunity to return to winning

form, particularly given Palace’s recent struggles.

It was apparent for some time that Hodgson might not lead the team for this match,

especially after his recent illness during training. This uncertainty could work in Everton’s favor.

Crystal Palace finds themselves in a precarious position near the relegation zone, and unless they improve their results soon, relegation to the Championship seems increasingly likely, especially

with other teams picking up points.

While Monday’s match isn’t an absolute must-win for either team, it holds significant importance given the stage of the season. Everton could greatly benefit from a victory, potentially pulling

Palace deeper into the relegation battle at the bottom of the Premier League table.
