Defender Everton, who was transferred for £22 million, according to Jesse Marsch, was dreadful in training.

Following his appearance on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, Jesse Marsch, the former Leeds United coach, continued to discuss Everton-related matters.

Marsch provided insightful analysis of Everton‘s match against Crystal Palace and praised

Sean Dyche for a tactical move he made during the game, particularly the substitution of Jack Harrison.

However, in a more light-hearted vein, Marsch recently made comments regarding a

former Everton player during an interview with CBS Sports.

When asked if he had ever encountered players who performed poorly in training, Marsch humorously acknowledged there were several, including Kemar Lawrence from his time in New York,

Crysencio Summerville from Leeds, and Ademola Lookman during his stint at Leipzig.

This reference to Lookman, who had a promising start at Everton but ultimately failed to

meet expectations before being sold for a profit of £22 million, sparked discussion

about his current performance.

Despite his underwhelming spell at Everton, Lookman has found success in Serie A with

Atalanta, where he has been thriving with his pace and skill.

Last season, Lookman scored 13 goals and provided eight assists, and this season, he has already contributed to ten goals in 18 appearances.

Lookman’s resurgence in Italy has led some to reflect on Everton’s decision to sell him and possibly regret it. However, it’s worth noting that Everton may not have been willing to wait for

Lookman to mature into the player he has become, especially if Marsch’s comments about his attitude during training hint at underlying issues that hindered his progress at the club.
