Sean Dyche updates Everton on his Premier League appeal as they continue to wait anxiously.
Sean Dyche has expressed uncertainty regarding when Everton will receive the outcome of their appeal against a 10-point deduction for breaching the Premier League‘s financial rules.
The deduction, issued in November, marked the largest in Premier League history.
Had it not been for the points deduction, Dyche’s side would currently be in 12th place in the table.
However, they are currently above the relegation zone on goal
difference following a recent draw with Crystal Palace.
Despite previously believing that an announcement regarding the appeal was imminent, Dyche
now admits to having no knowledge of when a decision will be reached.
The guideline suggests an announcement by the end of the month, but this remains uncertain.
The prolonged appeal process is causing uncertainty among the players, with Dyche
acknowledging that clarity would be beneficial. The impact of the appeal is not constantly
on the players’ minds, but it does linger in the background, with a desire for a factual update.
Prospective new owners, 777 Partners, are also awaiting news on the result of the Premier League’s owners and directors test. Originally aiming to complete the acquisition by Christmas,
the timeline has been delayed. While hopes were for a decision by the end of February,
it now seems likely to extend into March.
Dyche, however, remains in the dark regarding the takeover, with limited updates received and the process remaining in the hands of the relevant authorities.
