Paul Robinson left Goodison Park feeling let down by Everton’s loss.

Everton endured a disappointing 3-1 loss to West Ham United at Goodison Park on Saturday, further entrenching them in the relegation battle.

Despite the return of four points and hopes for a positive outcome under Sean Dyche’s leadership,

Everton’s inability to capitalize on opportunities proved costly.

While initially leading through Beto’s header, they squandered chances and conceded three goals in the final 30 minutes, deviating from their typical defensive resilience.

Paul Robinson, a former Tottenham Hotspur and England goalkeeper, offered a scathing assessment of Goodison Park’s lack of goal action during his commentary on BBC Radio 5 Live.

Despite West Ham scoring three goals, the match produced four goals in the second half, contradicting Robinson’s earlier comments.

However, Everton’s solitary goal failed to reflect their numerous missed opportunities, evident from their higher expected goals (xG) compared to West Ham’s.

The disappointment extends to Everton’s summer recruitment, with Beto, signed for £25 million from Udinese, falling short of expectations with only two Premier League goals.

Similarly, Youssef Chermiti, acquired for £15 million from Sporting, is yet to start a league game.

Loan signing Arnaut Danjuma from Villarreal has struggled to make an impact, plagued by injuries. Everton’s offensive struggles can be attributed to their unsuccessful recruitment,

with over £40 million spent on attackers. Additionally, loanee Jack Harrison from Leeds

United has failed to meet expectations,

contributing only three league goals.

Looking ahead, Everton may need to reinvest in their forward department and consider offloading players to facilitate necessary transfer plans, particularly if they hope to

avoid relegation and bolster their offensive capabilities
