Everton makes a move for a winger
South African international Delron Buckley has commenced a trial with Everton, as confirmed by skysports.com. The
28-year-old, predominantly a left winger but versatile enough to operate as a striker, is currently associated with
Borussia Dortmund, where he joined last summer.
Buckley earned his move to Dortmund following an impressive stint with Arminia Bielefeld. However, his impact at
The Signal-Iduna Park fell short of expectations, primarily due to being tasked with defensive duties.
While Tottenham expressed interest earlier in the year, Everton has now made their move, with Buckley set to
undergo assessment by manager David Moyes in the upcoming week.
According to his business manager Rob Moore, “He is spending the next week at Everton with a view to a deal being
done.” Moore added, “This is a great opportunity for Delron, he wants a fresh challenge and the English game will
suit him. He likes to play a quick style and that is what The Premiership is all about.
