Everton have initiated contact to acquire Yaser Asprilla according to recent transfer updates involving Watford.
Everton and Sporting Lisbon have both attempted to secure the signing of Watford standout Yaser Aprilla before the
January transfer window closed, as reported by Pipe Sierra.
However, the bids made fell short of Watford’s asking price, leading to unsuccessful negotiations. Watford is
banking on Aprilla’s participation in the Colombian national team to attract higher offers in the summer transfer window compared to those from Everton.
Yet another deadline marked by disappointment
Once more, Everton encountered difficulties in the January transfer window, with their attempted deals falling short
of expectations from the selling club’s perspective. Yaser Asprilla stands as Watford’s coveted asset, pivotal to their
season’s resurgence. Given his importance and the timing of the offers, it would have required a substantial bid to
sway Watford, especially considering the challenge of finding a replacement before the window’s closure.
With 27 Championship appearances this season, Yaser Asprilla has contributed four goals and four assists,
showcasing versatility in both midfield and wing positions, potentially bolstering Sean Dyche’s squad depth.
However, Everton’s efforts ultimately fell short in January, failing to make significant improvements to their team.
Consequently, Dyche faces the daunting task of once again relying on his managerial prowess to steer the squad clear
of a relegation battle.
