Yan Kent wants FIFA’s assistance as the former Rangers player thinks about suing Fenerbahce for “unpaid wages” in court.
Ryan Kent’s troubled tenure with Fenerbahce appears to be worsening, as reports suggest the former Rangers winger may take legal action against his current club.
Kent, who enjoyed a successful five-year stint at Rangers, chose Fenerbahce as his next
destination amidst a flurry of offers after leaving Ibrox. However, his time in
Turkey has not unfolded as anticipated.
In the current season, Kent has played only 633 minutes across all competitions,
scoring just one goal during a Conference League match against Zimbru Chisinau in July.
Notably, he has been excluded from Fenerbahce’s lineup since November, despite
turning down a transfer to Lazio on the deadline day.
Recent reports from Turkey indicate that Kent is contemplating legal action over
alleged unpaid wages and unfair treatment, planning to take the matter to FIFA and the Court of Arbitration.
According to Turkish outlet Fotomac, Kent is expected to present two
arguments to FIFA โ one regarding unpaid wages and the other concerning his exclusion from the team.
Fenerbahce, despite reinforcing their squad successfully in the summer, left Kent out of a crucial match against Antalyaspor after he declined the move to Italy.
This decision by manager Ismail Kartal became the tipping point for Kent,
prompting him to consider filing a complaint against the club for freezing him
out despite his involvement in the transfer saga and citing unpaid wages.
The situation may escalate further as FIFA rules allow complaints to be lodged
if a player hasn’t received wages for 91 consecutive days, a timeline that stretches back to November 5.
If Kent can provide evidence of non-payment up to that date, it could lead to
significant developments in the case.
