Concerns about the Everton acquisition might intensify as a new 777 protest image surfaced.

Concerns at Goodison Park could escalate following a recent anti-777 Partners protest staged by Standard Liege fans amidst ongoing takeover talks with Everton.

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri reported via his X account on February 10th that fans displayed banners during the Standard Liege vs. Oud-Heverlee Leuven match, expressing dissatisfaction with the prospective takeover, with one banner reading: “No money, no direction, 777, react or get out.”

Despite Standard Liege securing a 1-0 victory in the match, they currently occupy the tenth spot in the league, merely four points clear of the relegation zone.

This protest adds to the uncertainty surrounding the potential acquisition by 777 Partners.

Meanwhile, Everton awaits the verdict of their appeal against a ten-point deduction for breaching the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.

The appeal, held earlier in the month, is anticipated to yield results in mid-February, potentially before Crystal Palace’s visit to Goodison Park.

Should Everton’s appeal result in a reduction of the points penalty, it could significantly impact their season, as they trail Luton by a single point in the relegation zone.

The upcoming clash against Crystal Palace holds immense importance for Everton, as the Eagles currently sit five points ahead of them in the standings, albeit with a game in hand.

A victory coupled with a potential reduction in the points penalty could see Everton surpass Palace in the league table.
