Updates on Everton’s new stadium naming rights partner are provided as a historic transaction approaches.
Everton is progressing well in its efforts to secure a naming rights partner for their upcoming stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.
The club is preparing to move into the 52,888-seat stadium by the start of the 2025/26 season,
and their commercial team is now actively pursuing partnerships, including the stadium naming rights.
Initially, Everton had reached a £30 million agreement with former club partner USM for naming rights.
However, with the suspension of USM, Yota, and MegaFon as sponsors due to Russian ties, the club had to reconsider its options.
In October 2022, Everton enlisted the help of US firm Elevate Sports Ventures to assist in finding
a stadium naming rights partner.
This marks Everton’s first venture into securing such a partnership, with Elevate having a
track record of securing lucrative deals with sports teams in the US.
Richard Kenyon, Everton’s chief commercial officer, provided an update on the search for
stadium naming rights, expressing optimism about finding a suitable long-term partner.
Kenyon also highlighted the club’s current partnerships, including Christopher Ward and FIGS, which reflect Everton’s values and contribute to the community.
Stadium naming rights are highly valuable, and securing such a partnership would provide Everton
with a significant financial boost, especially as they transition to a new purpose-built home.
In the US, stadium naming rights deals typically span between 10 to 20 years,
offering guaranteed income for the sports teams involved.
While Everton may not reach the colossal figures seen in some US deals, securing naming
rights would open up a new revenue stream for the club and showcase their state-of-the-art stadium on a global stage.
A multi-purpose stadium like theirs is an attractive proposition for commercial partners seeking global exposure.
