With a “good chance” of leaving in the summer, Fabrizio Romano says Arsenal is “well informed” about the Premier League player.
According to Fabrizio Romano, a number of teams are interested in signing Amadou Onana for the summer.
Arsenal in particular are rumored to value the Everton star, although they haven’t decided on a single target yet.
“It’s safe to say that a lot of teams will be eager to sign Amadou Onana this summer,” the Guardian reporter stated in his special Daily Briefing piece with CaughtOffside.
Arsenal values him and is aware of his situation, but as I’ve already indicated, they must select what kind of player to sign. This decision won’t be made in February; rather, it will take some time.
I also mentioned Martin Zubimendi.
Regardless, Onana is drawing attention, and I believe he has a strong chance of moving in the summer.
As of right now, the holding midfielder’s contract at Goodison Park runs through the summer of 2027.
Former West Ham man Declan Rice has proven more than effective in the holding midfield role on his own.
Still, some debates persist over his potential deployment higher up the pitch and whether Arsenal could make better use of his considerable abilities.
There’s no question that a signing like either Onana or Martin Zubimendi would
add another dimension to the base of the London-based outfit’s midfield.
Both midfield players are ranked highly by FBref for their prowess in the air, with the
former ranking top with 2.43 aerials won per 90 (94th percentile) and the latter with
1.49 aerials won per 90 (79th percentile).
But, because of his long-term contract, Arsenal won’t necessarily find it simpler to
get the Real Sociedad player if they want him.
