Cowboys: Dak Prescott’s Assertive Explanation for Not Sporting NFC East Championship Gear

Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys clinched the NFC East division title at the conclusion of the 2023 NFL regular season. While securing this division championship is undoubtedly a notable achievement in the extensive history of the Cowboys’ franchise, Prescott is focused on a more significant objective for Dallas. After the Cowboys’ commanding 38-10 victory over the Washington Commanders, during which Prescott notably opted not to wear an NFC East Champions cap, he expressed to Erin Andrews in a post-game interview that the team has its sights set on a more substantial goal (as reported by Jess Nevarez of Pro Football Network).

“In Dak Prescott’s post-game interview with @ErinAndrews, he wasn’t wearing an NFC East Champs hat. She asked where his hat was. His response: ‘We want something bigger than that.'”

Prescott’s statement implies a clear ambition. The Cowboys are aiming for nothing less than a Super Bowl victory and the celebratory parade that would follow back in Dallas. While acknowledging the difficulty of winning the Vince Lombardi Trophy, Prescott remains confident in his team’s capabilities to go the distance.

Having rebounded just in time for the playoffs after consecutive losses to the Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins in Weeks 15 and 16, Dallas sealed their regular season with wins against the Detroit Lions and the Commanders, finishing with a 12-5 record.

The next challenge on the horizon for Dallas is a Wild Card showdown in Arlington against Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers on January 14th.
