Arsenal’s Legend Counsels the Gunners Man to Turn Down Chelsea in Favor of Completing a “Simple” £100 million Deal.

Arsenal’s Legend Counsels the Gunners Man to Turn Down Chelsea in Favor of Completing a “Simple” £100 million Deal.

In January, Paul Merson demanded that Arsenal sign Ivan Toney, a striker for Brentford,

and he maintains that his old team is still in the running for the Premier League title.

As Mikel Arteta looks to step up his attack, Toney is reportedly at the top of the Gunners’ shortlist.

Since coming from Manchester City last summer,

Gabriel Jesus has made an impact on the team with his pressing and ball-handling skills,

but his finishing has been far from stellar.

Eddie Nketiah, Jesus’ backup, has also fallen short of Arteta’s expectations of him as

the vicious striker, which has fueled a lot of Toney rumors in the last week.

The Brentford attacker may be a little rusty when he returns to the

field this month because he hasn’t played in eight months due to a suspension for

breaking the Football Association’s gambling rules.

The 27-year-old is rumored to be eager to move to the Emirates, but if Arsenal

makes a move in the winter transfer window, his current employers are anticipated to

demand roughly £100 million.

Club hero Merson believes Arteta, who is currently 20th in the Premier League sack race,

has to bring in Toney and insists Arsenal’s pursuit of the

Premier League championship is “not over yet,” despite the Bees’ enormous asking

price and the Gunners’ alleged restricted January budget.

“Simply put, Arsenal needs to go get Toney!” Merson contributed to X.

“It’s not finished yet.”

Aaron Ramsdale, who lost his starting position in goal to summer

acquisition David Raya, is one player who could depart Arsenal this month.

Ramsdale is too talented to be a bench warmer, and with Euro 2024 rapidly approaching,

the England goalkeeper may try to leave in January.

Although Ramsdale has been heavily linked to a move to Chelsea,

Arsenal legend David Seaman has urged the 25-year-old to stick with it and

compete for his spot, saying he should wait until the end of the season.

“No, I don’t want him to leave the club at all,” Seaman stated to talkSPORT.

Raya has entered, and it’s clear that you understand why he’s there—his footwork is exceptional.

“It’s still up in the air for me, but I’m glad the team has two excellent goalkeepers.

” Ensuring the happiness of those who are not present is the primary responsibility.

Ramsdale also needs to take care of England.

“He needs to play because he’s England’s No. 2 and he’s pushing for the Euros.

However, he doesn’t go in January in my opinion. Let’s see what occurs at the end of the season.

“Aaron should be with us. I am thrilled to have two exceptionally

talented goalkeepers, and Aaron will be sticking with us. He’s ready to participate.

He wants to play for Arsenal, just like any other player.
