A Sky Sports journalist has forecast the Everton appeal ruling timeline among rumors surrounding Valentine’s Day.
Alan Myers anticipates that the verdict of Everton‘s points deduction appeal might be announced sometime between February 19th and 25th.
Responding to inquiries on Twitter on February 13th, the Sky Sports journalist suggested that the decision wasn’t expected on Valentine’s Day, despite rumors suggesting it might arrive within the next 36 hours.
Initial reports on January 30th indicated that the three-day appeal hearing was scheduled for the following week, with talkSPORT also suggesting Everton could expect an answer by mid-February.
However, Myers couldn’t confirm a specific date, stating it might happen sometime the following week.
Regarding the speculation about the decision arriving on February 14th, Myers clarified that he wasn’t aware of such a timeline.
Fans are keen to learn the outcome as it could significantly impact Everton’s position. The deduction of 10 points has placed Everton in the relegation battle, contrasting with their previous mid-table standing.
There’s speculation that the sanction might be reduced substantially, providing immediate relief and establishing a precedent for other cases.
There’s also concern for Nottingham Forest, who might face further repercussions due to player sales at Everton. Both clubs have admitted breaching profit and sustainability rules, raising the possibility of additional punishment. A positive appeal verdict could mitigate subsequent sanctions.
The sooner the club and fans receive clarity, the easier it will be to prepare mentally. However, it seems the announcement might still be several days away.
