A point deduction claim during Nottingham Forest’s relegation struggle refutes Everton’s premise.

A point deduction claim during Nottingham Forest’s relegation struggle refutes Everton’s premise.

Sean Dyche, the manager of Everton, has highlighted where his team would stand in the fight against relegation if they were not subject to a ten-point deduction.

Three points separating the Toffees in 17th position from Nottingham Forest

in 16th place in the standings. On Saturday, they appeared to be on track for three points, but a ten-man

Brighton and Hove Albion team pulled one back in the 95th minute.

At the end of the previous season, an impartial tribunal docked Everton ten points.

They are currently awaiting word on their appeal’s result.

Both Forest and Everton have been charged with further breaches of the league’s financial rules.

It is possible that both teams could be given a points deduction if they are found guilty

Responding to the draw against Brighton, which leaves his side nine games without

a win and a point above the drop zone, Dyche pointed to the points that they have had taken off them this season as

an indicator to how they are really doing.

“We should be on 31 don’t forget. In a way you can spin the story however you wish.

“If you add in the run with the four wins on the trot, then all of a sudden you add it all together and go, ‘actually, it’s a 31 is a reasonably healthy number when compared to past seasons.

It’s how you measure it, and my responsibility is to consider the whole picture.

“In many respects, our performances are accurate.

Establishing objectives is a challenging challenge; we know we need to improve on that, but

today’s performance was quite strong overall.

Saturday’s 4-2 loss against Villa prevented Forest from pulling farther clear of the bottom three spots.

The next Saturday, they will welcome Liverpool at the City Ground in Premier League action.
